PITTSBURGH — Steelers offensive line coach Pat Meyer had his first day of minicamp with the Steelers Tuesday at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. Early into the practice, he took the Steelers’ offensive linemen to work specifically on run blocking drills.

Watch to see the technique and form exhibited with Meyer coaching up players like James Daniels, Chukwuma Okorafor, Mason Cole, Kendrick Green, Dan Moore Jr., among others:

During OTAs, several of the Steelers’ offensive linemen expressed appreciation for Meyer’s coaching methods. Read more about their thoughts on the new position coach here.

Just two years ago the Steelers had one of the older offensive line in the NFL with Maurkice Pouncey and David DeCastro as starters. Now, they have to rework the group with a bunch of younger players in their early-to-mid twenties. One of Meyer’s biggest challenges will involve such a young group’s development to find chemistry. But all that starts with fundamentals first.
