Steelers Sights & Sounds: Highsmith Limited, Montravius Adams Returns
Pittsburgh Steelers Sights & Sounds: Alex Highsmith remains very limited at practice. Montravius Adams returns.
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Montravius Adams returned to practice on Wednesday, looking good after missing four weeks with a knee injury, but outside linebacker Alex Highsmith remains very limited.
Adams opened his 21-day practice window on Wednesday, but head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that there’s a chance he plays this week. Adams missed four weeks while on injured reserve after suffering a left knee injury earlier this season.
Elsewhere, outside linebacker Alex Highsmith was in uniform for practice, but he was not participating in even non-contact drills like the get-off drill the defensive linemen do to start individual periods. Highsmith watched alongside head coach Mike Tomlin.
Highsmith said on Tuesday that he hopes to return this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, but he will have to wait at least one more day to be anything close to a full participant at practice. Highsmith has been out since suffering a low ankle sprain against the Washington Commanders in Week 10.
