The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed defensive tackle Eli Ankou to their practice squad, according to the NFL transactions page for Monday.

A third-round pick out of UCLA in 2017, Ankou has played for seven NFL teams, most recently the Atlanta Falcons, where he spent two weeks in August.

The 6-foot-3, 325-pound defensive tackle played in seven gams with the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, nine with the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and 11 with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017-18.

In his NFL career, Ankou has 31 tackles, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks.

The Steelers have been dealing with a number of absences on their defensive line. End Stephon Tuitt (knee) and tackle Tyson Alaulau (ankle) are on injured reserve, while tackle Carlos Davis (knee) missed his third straight game on Sunday.
