Steelers Try Out Former Penn State Cornerback

The Steelers hosted former Penn State cornerback John Reid for a workout on Thursday, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston.
Reid is a cornerback out of Penn State. He was a fourth-round pick in 2020 by the Houston Texans, but bounced out to the Seattle Seahawks shortly after that. Reid was last on the Minnesota Vikings but has been with five different teams over his career. He has 30 tackles and 3 pass deflections in his career.
Reid was one of five defensive backs worked out by the Steelers on Thursday. The other players were Ben DeLuca, Jalen Elliott, Joshua Kalu, and Jace Whittaker. It is unknown if the Steelers have signed any of the players, but Reid is the one with the most obvious local connections.
Playing from 2016 to 2019 with the Nittany Lions and racked up 7 interceptions and one touchdown with 25 pass deflections over the four years he played with the team. Reid is vying to get another NFL opportunity after not latching on with any team over the past year. That seems to point to the Steelers looking for a versatile defensive back given the background that Reid has in the NFL at this moment.
