Steelers To Bring In QB-Turned-RB for Pre-Draft Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a pre-draft visit scheduled with UCF running back R.J. Harvey, according to a report by Justin Melo of The Draft Network.
The Steelers previously scouted Harvey at the 2025 Senior Bowl. He was a tw0-year starter at UCF, rushing for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2023 and 1,576 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sixth-year senior with the Knights in 2024. Harvey led the Big 12 in total touchdowns (25), rushing touchdowns and yard per attempt (6.8).

An Orlando, Florida native, Harvey originally committed to Virginia as a quarterback before transferring back home to UCF in 2020. That’s when he made the switch to running back, playing in two games. An ACL injury cost him his entire 2021 season, before the became a regular in 2022, playing in 13 games and starting two.
Harvey had a strong 2025 NFL Combine, overcoming his 5-foot-8, 205-pound size to post an 8.49 overall Relative Athletic Score thanks to a 4.4-second 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical and 10-foot-7 broad jump.
Harvey is currently the No. 125 player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board, just after the Steelers’ fourth-round pick at No. 122 overall. The Steelers have been heavily eyeing running backs in the 2025 NFL Draft class while seeking someone to replace Najee Harris and to pair with Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell in rotation for this season and beyond.
