The Steelers will release Morgan Burnett by April first, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This news comes after Burnett reportedly requested his release following the season and the team signed free agent corner Steve Nelson.

Burnett, who was a key free agent signing a year ago, recorded 30 total tackles in his only one season in Pittsburgh. Prior to signing with the Steelers, Burnett had spent his entire career in Green Bay, compiling 706 tackles and 9 interceptions. He was a member of the Packers Super Bowl XLV championship team.
