The Steelers have been fined $75,000 and head coach Mike Tomlin has been fined an additional $25,000 for improperly listing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on the team’s injury report leading up to the Steelers’ Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to a report by Ian Rappaport of NFL Network.

Roethlisberger did not practice on the Wednesday of that week. His absence was originally listed as “coach’s decision” before being updated to “not injury related.”

He was then listed as a full participant on Thursday and Friday that week, but played just one half against Seattle before being shut down for the season with an elbow injury that required surgery.

Roethlisberger had surgery on Sept. 23 and said in a statement that he intends to return for the 2020 season.
