Steelers Will Require Masks in Indoor Parts of Heinz Field for Saturday’s Preseason Game

The Steelers will require fans to bring masks to wear in the enclosed areas of Heinz Field for the team’s first game of the 2021 preseason this Saturday against the Detroit Lions.

All fans will be required to wear masks in the indoor areas of the building, regardless of vaccination status, including the club areas, restrooms, pro shops and elevators. Staff and vendors will also be wearing masks in those areas.

In open-air parts of the stadium, including the seating bowls, concourses and FedEx Great Hall, masks will be strongly encouraged while not actively eating or drinking for vaccinated fans.

Unvaccinated fans should wear a mask at all times within the stadium, but the team will not require fans to show proof of vaccination.

The Steelers and Lions are slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, the only preseason game that will be played at Heinz Field this season.
