After a loss against the Indianapolis Colts, the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an even bigger loss. On Monday, the Steelers learn James Daniels–who left the game early on Sunday–suffered a season-ending achilles tendon tear.

This marks the fourth offensive lineman to suffer an injury including Nate Herbig, Isaac Seumalo, and Troy Fautanu.

In response to this news, Aaron Wilson reported on X that the Steelers brought in two offensive lineman–J.D. DiRenzo and Garret Greenfield–for work outs.

J.D. DiRenzo, a current free agent, spent the 2023 on the Carolina Panthers roster after going undrafted out of Rutgers. He only was active for three games during his tenure with the Panthers before being waived with an injury designation this past preseason.

Garret Greenfield is a name that teammate Mason McCormick would be familiar with as they both played for South Dakota State. The Steelers likely got a good look at him as they scouted McCormick who they selected in the fourth round of the 2024 draft. Greenfield was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent and was released before the regular season.

The Steelers will likely look to continue to evaluate options as the injuries continue to pile up. They will need to act quickly as they have a meeting with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium.

I wonder if they would consider Mason Cole? He isnโ€™t good enough to start but he would be a reliable backup inside.
