PITTSBURGH — Kenny Pickett has his first touchdown in a Steelers uniform. He found an open Jaylen Warren on a play-action bootleg for a three-yard touchdown connection. For both rookies, it was their first touchdown on an NFL field. In fact, the drive was mostly those two manufacturing the drive down the field.

In his first drive, Pickett went 5 for 5 with 33 yards and a touchdown. He then found Conner Heyward on a curl route in the front of the end zone to convert the two-point conversion. It gave the Steelers a 25-17 lead over the Seahawks in the third quarter Saturday night.

Pickett has shown considerable growth over his weeks in Latrobe, and it carried over into the first drive with the team in live action. He seemed decisive, quick, and efficient overall. There were no bad decisions from Pickett on the drive and he was composed as a whole while running Matt Canada’s offense. Pickett is expected to play the entire second half.
