Report: Raiders QB Marcus Mariota Out Multiple Weeks with Quad Injury
The injuries for the Las Vegas Raiders are continuing to pile up ahead of their matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday.
According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Raiders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to miss multiple weeks with a quad injury.
Mariota reportedly tweaked the quad on a 31-yard scamper Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens. He did not see the field again following the play.
#Raiders QB Marcus Mariota is expected to be out multiple weeks after aggravating a quad injury during a 31-yard run on Monday night, source said. A few weeks is the best case scenario. This robs Las Vegas of a weapon, as they planned to sprinkle Mariota in on offense.

While an injury to a backup quarterback would sound insignificant to some teams, the Raiders actually utilize Mariota’s skillset as a runner quite often on the offensive side.
Mariota is in his second year with the Raiders. He saw action in one game a season ago, passing for 266 yards and a touchdown in a relief of starter Derek Carr. Mariota also rushed for 88 yards and a score in the game.
