MINNEAPOLIS — Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin clarified that outside linebacker Alex Highsmith suffered a quad injury early in the second half of his team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.

Highsmith was originally announced has having a knee injury. He did not return to the game. Highsmith’s father, Sam Highsmith, said on Twitter that he only suffered a bruise.

Highsmith was seen limping on the Pittsburgh sideline after suffering the injury.

The Steelers also lost fellow starting outside linebacker T.J. Watt to a groin injury in the game. Tomlin did not have a prognosis for either player.

Derrek Tuszka and Taco Charlton replaced the starters at outside linebacker.
