The Cleveland Browns will start third-string quarterback Nick Mullens Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders, as starter Baker Mayfield and primary backup Case Keenum have yet to be cleared from COVID-19 protocol, according to multiple reports.

Mullens spent the previous three seasons as a backup with the San Francisco 49ers. He has passed for 4,714 yards, 25 touchdowns and 22 interceptions in his NFL career.

The Browns are also without head coach Kevin Stefanski, as well as multiple other players and personnel.

Monday night’s matchup is a crucial one for Cleveland. A victory would give them first place in the extremely competitive AFC North division, while a loss would drop them all the way to last.

The game had originally been scheduled for Saturday afternoon, but was rescheduled for Monday following a joint decision by the league and NFLPA.
