? NFL insider Adam Caplan said there is a good indication that rookie Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Roman Wilson could be back sooner than expected.
“I’m told with Roman Wilson, coming back from his ankle injury, there’s optimism he’ll start practicing within the next seven-to-ten days coming off that ankle injury,” Caplan said during an appearance on the SportsGrid podcast.
? Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and current ESPN analyst Bart Scott ripped Justin Fields for taking too many sacks.
“This guy continuously burps the baby,” Scott said on Get Up. “I hate for my friend Tim Tebow to take strays, but that reminds me of Tim Tebow in practice. You just can’t do that. When a play breaks down, you burp the baby like that. You put the offensive tackles in a bind. Guys give up sacks and they’re losing their career basically because you’re burping the baby back there.
“It reminds me of Tim Tebow. We talk about burping the baby and how long it takes you to process. Waiting until a receiver’s open in the NFL, you have to throw the receivers open in anticipation. He doesn’t throw in process with great anticipation, which causes his offensive line protection to breakdown, which causes him to kind of scatter within the pocket.
“Ball security, job security, 38 fumbles since entering the NFL, it’s five more than any other player. It’s not acceptable.”
? Former Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant is thankful for the opportunity with the Washington Commanders. Bryant hasn’t played in an NFL game since 2018.

? Mike Garafolo of NFL Network said on NFL Insiders that Brandon Aiyuk would prefer to stay in San Fran.
“What I’ve been told is that Brandon Aiyuk would prefer to stay with the 49ers and has always preferred to stay with the 49ers. Both sides sent proposals within the last couple days week or so and the 49ers number has gotten better than what it was previously and they have from my understanding agreed on a lot of the main points of the deal. Their offers are in line. It sounds like there’s just one more thing that needs to be ironed out and if that thing gets ironed out Brandon Ayuk signs the deal and he stays with the 49ers, drops the trade request and, finally he can put this situation behind him.”
From The Insiders on @nflnetwork: The #49ers and Brandon Aiyuk aren’t that far apart on a deal, which is why they haven’t pulled the trigger on a trade to the #Steelers and Aiyuk is still hoping they can clear one final hurdle in the negotiations. pic.twitter.com/hyJvFckRrn
