NFL Week 2: Justin Fields to Score Plus Three Promos
The Pittsburgh Steelers are 1-0 as Mike Tomlin and company get rocky mountain high in Denver in NFL Week 2. The story of Week 1 wasn’t a display of Pittsburgh’s superiority but rather the shockingly bad shape of Falcons QB Kirk Cousins.
We didn’t learn anything new about the Steelers last week. They won a close game by winning the turnover battle and kicking field goals. Same as 2023. Same as it ever was.

Yet, the black and gold are -2.5 road favorites against Sean Payton’s Broncos. What can we expect from the Steelers? Here are three of my favorite NFL Week 2 Steelers player props.
Justin Fields Anytime TD +215 (DraftKings)
Justin Fields’ Steelers debut was underwhelming. He went 17/23 for 156 yards and added 57 rushing yards but didn’t cross the goal line.
Fields bobbled two snaps early in the game, and if Atlanta recovers them, we’d likely be looking at a different outcome. Calf-tightness or not, I can guarantee Russell Wilson would get the start in Denver.

The Steelers have to figure out how to score touchdowns. Fields’ athleticism makes him a more dynamic QB than Kenny Pickett or a 35-year-old Wilson. So I expect the Steelers to use Fields’ legs if and when they get near the goal line.
They don’t have elite offensive skill position players other than George Pickens. And they’re playing a Denver team that surrendered 146 rushing yards last week to the Seattle Seahawks. That means Arthur Smith and Mike Tomlin have to turn Justin Fields loose.
Najee Harris Alt Rushing Yards O/U: Over 65.5 +125 (DraftKings)
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin called the injury to RB Jaylen Warren a “slippery slope.” Warren was a vital cog in the Steelers’ offense last season, but he’s not healthy. So OC Arthur Smith will lean on the Najee Harris/Cordarelle Patterson combo out of the backfield.
Does anyone know why Arthur Smith loves Patterson so much?
Harris rushed for 70 yards on 20 carries against the Falcons last week. With Warren hampered by injury and little life in the Steelers passing attack, I expect Harris to get at least 20 carries and 70 yards versus a weak Broncos rushing defense.
