Steelers Starting CB Dealing with Shoulder Injury, Expects to Play
Pittsburgh Steelers starting cornerback Donte Jackson is dealing with a shoulder injury, but expects to play this week.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers depth at cornerback could be tested this week against the Indianapolis Colts.
The team has already been playing without No. 3 cornerback Cory Trice Jr., who was placed on the injured reserve list earlier this week with a hamstring injury.
Starting Steelers cornerback Donte Jackson is batting an injury, as well. Jackson suffered a AC sprain during the team’s Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, on a play where Chargers wide receiver Simi Fehoko pushed off against him.
He returned after missing just two plays against the Chargers, and has been limited in practice this week, but Jackson said he expects to be able to play through it again this week.
If Jackson can’t continue, expect James Pierre to once again be the backup outside cornerback. Darius Rush should also dress as the No. 4 outside player and Dime cornerback.
“When it comes to, when they call my name and I’m up, I’m just gonna go out there and execute,” Rush said.
