Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is excited to be with the Baltimore Ravens and is looking forward to facing his former team.

Johnson had his first practice with the Ravens on Wednesday since being traded to Baltimore from the Carolina Panthers, and he spoke to the Baltimore media after.

“Once I found out where I was going, I was excited,” https://twitter.com/Ravens/status/1851732155853893890″>he

said. “It still don’t seem real to me. It’s a blessing for me to get another opportunity to come back to the AFC North.”

In the AFC North, the Steelers and Ravens appear to be headed for a collision course for the division title. The Steelers are entering their bye week alone in first place at 6-2. The Ravens can close to a half-game back this weekend. They’re currently 5-3. The third-place Bengals are three games back at 3-5.

The two games remaining between the Steeler and the Ravens will likely play a big part in who wins the North. The first of those matchups is coming in Week 11 in Pittsburgh.

“I’m looking forward to that game, man,” Johnson said. “But like I said, l’m focused on right now. Whatever game comes first before we get to that point, I’m gonna do my job and just keep appearing.”

Johnson has played in nine games between the Steelers and Ravens, winning six of them while he was with Pittsburgh. He knows what it takes to win in rivalry games.

The Steelers traded Johnson to the Panthers in March, after he fell out of favor with the team’s coaching staff. He seems ready to make them pay for that decision.

“Just how hard we competed against each other,” he said when asked about what he remembered about those games. “Getting the football out, making plays and everyone tackling. It’s a big rivalry game. Being on this side now is different. I’m excited.”
