With the NFL Draft now less than a week away, the speculation is heating up on who the Steelers will take with their first round pick. Many have brought up Alabama star running back Najee Harris’ name as a fit for Pittsburgh as the 24th overall pick, and now Harris himself is making his feelings about the possibility quite clear.
When asked about joining the Steelers, Harris responded, “it would be good to be a Steeler” while appearing on ESPN’s First Take.

Harris rushed for 1,466 yards and 26 touchdowns in Tuscaloosa last season. He also impressed as a receiver, snagging 43 receptions for 425 yards and four more scores in 2020.
Not only did Harris win the National Championships with the Crimson Tide in January, but he was also named a unanimous All-American and awarded the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back.
While he would no doubt provide an immediate boost to a Steelers rushing attack that was the NFL’s worst in 2020, some contend there are other safer options for the Steelers to use on a first round pick since the franchise has several key needs.
