Another Zach Frazier? Steelers Host WVU Offensive Lineman for Pre-Draft Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers maybe going to back to the well — or is it the mine? — in Morgantown, as they’re hosting West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum for a 2025 NFL Draft visit on Thursday.
Last season, the Steelers drafted West Virginia center Zach Frazier in the second round, and Frazier went on to have an all-rookie performance for the Black and Gold. Now they’re looking at his former playing partner.
After playing offensive tackle throughout his college career at West Virginia, NFL teams have been testing Milum at guard as well.
“It’s different, it’s definitely a learning experience,” Milum said at the Senior Bowl. “It happens a lot quicker. The space is closed down. You ain’t on an island. So that’s really the biggest difference. And really, just getting used to it. I’ve never taken any live reps at guard. I played tackle my whole college career so just being able to come here and show I can play it, I feel like that’s important.”
The Steelers have a future need at guard, where Isaac Seumalo is entering the final season of his contract. That would be the last piece of an offensive line rebuild that included their first-round pick in 2023 (tackle Broderick Jones) and three selections last year including Frazier, first-round tackle Troy Fautanu and fourth-round guard Mason McCormick.

In addition to now being able to add the Steelers to the list of teams showing interest, Milum revealed that he had a formal meeting with the Washington Commanders at the 2025 NFL Combine. The Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots are other teams to watch for Milum.
Milum is the No. 73 player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board, projected as an early third-round pick.
Milum did not allow a sack in either 2023 or 2024 and has not allowed a sack in 34 of his last 36 games. In 2024, Milum did not allow a quarterback hurry and gave up only seven pressures.
This past season, Milum was honored as a consensus All-American. Milum earned first-team honors on four of the five teams — Walter Camp, AFCA, FWAA and Sporting News — and was a second-team All-American on the fifth team, Associated Press. Milum was also named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Lineman of the Yearthis season and was named first-team All-Big 12.
Hailing from Kenova, W.Va., Milum came to WVU from Spring Valley High School in 2021. He started 43 games over the next four years, eventually transitioning from right tackle to left tackle and developing into one of the top pass protectors in the nation.
West Virginia player are considered local and are exempt from the limit of 30 pre-draft visitors. Milum visited with Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough and Ole Miss defensive tackle J.J. Pegues on Thursday.
