Antonio Brown is planning to suit up for the Albany Empire, the team he owns, and now he wants a former star NFL quarterback to come to play for the team as well.

In a tweet he sent out on Sunday, Brown offered former Panthers star and NFL MVP Cam Newton to come into the league to play with him. Newton has been rumored to have been targeted by Brown in recent weeks, but it seems that is growing more by the day. In addition, Brown has noted that he would love to catch a touchdown from Newton.

“If anybody seen @CameronNewton let him know he haven’t thrown me a touchdown in a game yet and now we finally can make it happen @thealbanyempir 6/16/23 in Albany nyc! I’m offering Cam 150k one game play with me,” Brown tweeted.

Newton would make $150,000 as Brown says to play a game with Brown in June. Antonio Brown was scheduled to suit up on Saturday for his team, but could not due to missing the deadline to submit paperwork related to his physical to the league. As such, he now expects to suit up for the Empire’s next game in June. He was listed on the team’s 25-man roster for Saturday but was one of their four inactive players.

“Stay tuned, AB’s coming. There’s proper procedures you’ve got to do to play football,” Brown said.

Brown purchased an interest in the team, the successor to the indoor team that his father, “Touchdown” Eddie Brown played for. Eddie Brown is the team’s general manager and Antonio, in an effort to turn around the fortunes of a team struggling at the gate and in the standings, wanted to play for the team. Now, he is trying to recruit Newton to help him turn the fortunes of the team around after the team lost a game to Fayetteville 49-27.
