After announcing that he would play on June 17th for the team he owns, the Albany Empire, Antonio Brown is looking to recruit a former teammate and his brother to play with him on that date. Maurkice Pouncey and his brother Mike have offered to play one game with Brown for the Empire.
After Maurkice posted an Instagram story offering up the idea, Brown responded back on Twitter to try and recruit them, citing that they would be the first ‘HOF Twins’ to ever play together. It would be the first time that the Pouncey twins have ever played together in professional football after being on other teams their entire NFL career.

Since Brown acquired 95% ownership of the Empire, the team has fallen to 1-5 after winning the championship each of the last two seasons in the NAL. Brown was supposed to play on Saturday but failed to submit his physical paperwork on time in order to be able to play. Now, it appears he will play for the team on the 17th. He is also trying to recruit former NFL MVP and Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to play with him for the game against the Jacksonville Sharks at MVP Arena in Albany.
Yesterday, Antonio Brown hired Terrence C. Foster to be the Albany Empire’s new head coach after firing the old coach after just one week on the job. It will be the third coach that the Empire has had this season amid turmoil and questions around Brown’s ownership of the team.
Foster was previously the defensive coordinator of the Iowa Barnstormers. Foster, who has 20 years of coaching experience in the indoor game, will try to counteract the five-game losing streak that Brown has called out both publicly on Twitter and to the media.
Brown purchased an interest in the team, the successor to the indoor team that his father, “Touchdown” Eddie Brown played for. Eddie Brown is the team’s general manager.
