Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had successful surgery on his left knee, and is expected to make a full recovery, the team announced in a statement Thursday.
Burrow suffered the gruesome knee injury in Week 11 against Washington, tearing both the ACL and MCL in his left knee when defensive end Johnathan Allen fell into him. Burrow was carted off the field.
"Joe Burrow underwent successful surgery yesterday. The procedure went as planned and he is expected to make a complete recovery. Joe will begin the recovery process and we look forward to his return."

The procedure “went as planned,” and the Bengals organization is looking forward to the rookie’s recovery.
Selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU, Burrow thrown for 2,485 yards, 12 touchdowns and just five interceptions prior to the injury. He was third in the league with 242 completions, connecting on 65.4% of his passes.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are slated to visit the Bengals on Monday Night Football on Dec. 21. Burrow was replaced by Brandon Allen in the Bengals’ Week 12 loss to the New York Giants.
