UNITY TWP., Pa. — With each and every day, we are learning more about what kind of offense Arthur Smith is looking to bring to the Pittsburgh Steelers. There’s been a significant amount of change on the offensive side of the ball since the Steelers last took the field in an actual game, but there’s optimism that this group will be legitimately better than they were a year ago. One of the main factors anchoring that positive outlook is the additions that the Steelers made on the offensive line, taking three trench players in the first four rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Smith has been impressed with the direction of his young group, saying “I think we are further along in terms of style of play than I anticipated, and that’s been a positive.”

If you recall, things got a bit chippy during the latter portions of Wednesday’s practice following a questionable late bump on Justin Fields, with several of the young offensive linemen immediately coming to the defense of their quarterback. Smith wasn’t surprised and liked seeing his guys “bite” but acknowledged the bigger picture, as well.
