Each team selects one nominee, but the list of 32 will be narrowed down to just eight by a committee of four former players including Larry Fitzgerald, Curtis Martin, Warrick Dunn and Leonard Wheeler.
Players across the league will then vote for one of the eight finalists when they submit their Pro Bowl ballots later this month.
The winner of the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award will be announced during the NFL Honors ceremony, and a $25,000 donation will be made to the charity of their choice.
While the award is named after “The Chief,” it has yet to be won by a Steelers player since its creation in 2014.
