PHILADELPHIA — Ben Roethlisberger will lead the Pittsburgh Steelers in their home preseason opener next Saturday, head coach Mike Tomlin said on Thursday after the Steelers improved to 2-0 with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Roethlisberger was not active for either of the team’s first two games, with Mason Rudolph starting both. Dwayne Haskins and Josh Dobbs followed in that order in each game.

Tomlin did not say how much Roethlisberger will play. Fellow veterans such as Joe Haden and Cam Heyward have also been held out thus far. The Steelers starters played just three series against Philadelphia.

The Steelers will host the Detroit Lions for their first and only home preseason game next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
