Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow left his team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football.
Burrow appeared to injure his wrist on a first-half touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon.

Burrow tried to throw on the sideline, but then went to the Cincinnati locker room for further treatment. He did not return to the game in the second half, and while officially listed as questionable, head coach Zac Taylor told Amazon Prime Video that he would likely not return. When Burrow left the game, he had completed 11 of 17 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Burrow was replaced by Jake Browning. Browning has been with since Cincinnati since 2021, and spent two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings before that, but he is playing in just his second career game.
A 27-year-old Washington alum, he did not have an NFL completion before entering Thursday’s game. A.J. McCarron is on the Cincinnati practice squad, but is not dressed.
Burrow has battled a calf injury throughout the start of the season that did not cause him to miss any playing time, but has certainly limited him in the first half of 2023.
Burrow had completed 233 of 348 passes for 2,208 yards, 14 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 90.5 passer rating in the first nine games of the season. Burrow had a 100.8 passer rating in 2022 and a 108.3 rating in 2021, as the Bengals made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
Cincinnati’s first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of LSU, Burrow won NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2021 and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2022.
The Steelers will visit the Bengals next week in Week 12.
