Bengals RB Joe Mixon Out vs. Steelers With Concussion
PITTSBURGH — Bengals running back Joe Mixon is being evaluated for a head injury and he is questionable to return.
The starting running back for Cincinnati, Mixon has given the Steelers plenty of issues in the past but only has 7 carries for 20 yards thus far on Sunday. He also has 3 catches for 43 yards on the day.
In his place, it will be Samaje Perine who will fill in. Perine already has a touchdown after stiff-arming Steelers linebacker Robert Spillane. The Bengals currently lead the Steelers 24-20 after driving down to score a go-ahead touchdown against a Steelers defense that is on their heels.
If Mixon can not come back, it will hurt the Bengals’ opportunities to run the football against the Steelers. However, Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins have done a strong job of creating separation and space to help drive the team down the field.
