The Cincinnati Bengals have signed two former members of the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad just ahead of the Week 18 game between the teams.

Cincinnati signed defensive tackle Domenique Davis and linebacker Craig Young to their practice squad, the Bengals announced on Tuesday.

Davis, 28, had been with the Bengals since 2022, but after they released him on Oct. 22, the Steelers signed him their practice squad on Nov. 5. He spent a month in Pittsburgh, while backup nose tackle Montravius Adams was dealing with a knee injury, and was released on Dec. 6.

Davis spent two and a half seasons in Cincinnati before his release but only played in two games with the team in that time, recording three career tackles. Davis has played both nose tackle and three-technique defensive tackle in his time in the NFL.

A 6-foot-2, 326-pound native of Laurinburg, North Carolina, Davis played collegiately at Division II UNC-Pembroke. He went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and was signed by the New York Jets, but was released with a failed physical designation later that summer. Two years later, Davis resurrected his career with the Houston Gambles of the USFL. He played in 10 games with the Gamblers in the spring of 2022, recording 24 tackles and four sacks.

Young, a rookie linebacker out of Kansas, signed with the Steelers on Oct. 16 and spent three weeks with the club before he was released on Nov. 5, as Tyler Matakevich was returning to health.

Young originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a rookie free agent after going undrafted out of Kansas this spring. In three preseason games, Young finished tied for sixth on Colts with eight tackles, but he was waived in the final cuts on Aug. 27.

At Kansas, Young played in a hybrid safety role. He appeared in 26 games and recorded 101 tackles, 71 of them solo stops, 10.5 tackles for a loss, eight passes defensed, six sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble. He transferred to Kansas for his final two seasons of college football after starting out at Ohio State. He played in 26 games over three seasons as a Buckeye at linebacker. Young finished his career at Ohio State recording 23 tackles, two interceptions and a touchdown.

The Steelers and Bengals will wrap the 2024 regular season with their Week 18 game at Acrisure Stadium, which will be played on either Saturday, Jan. 4 or Sunday, Jan. 5.
