The Cincinnati Bengals trolled the Pittsburgh Steelers by playing Renegade in the locker room after Saturday night’s 19-17 victory at Acrisure Stadium.

Renegade by Styk has been the Steelers’ rally song since Pittsburgh’s 36-33 comeback win over the Cleveland Browns in the 2002 Wild Card Round game.

The Steelers didn’t seriously threaten to beat the Bengals until late in the fourth quarter, mounting a comeback to get the game close, but losing to Cincinnati, 19-17.

A Pat Freiermuth touchdown brought the Steelers to with a touchdown in fourth, and Connor Heyward recovered a muffed punt to let a Chris Boswell field goal get them to within two, but the Steelers offense couldn’t capitalize on one final drive to earn a win.

Renegade blasted at Acrisure Stadium after Freiermuth’s 19-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to cut the Bengals’ lead to 19-14. The Bengals got just one first down on the following drive, but the Steelers offense went three-and-out on the ensuing possession.

The Bengals are not the first team to troll the Steelers with Renegade, but they could be the first team to play the song in their locker room after a win. Buffalo Bills players on the sideline got hyped up to Renegade by Styx during a game in 2019.

Opposing players sometimes mess with the Terrible Towel after a win, which is a risky proposition, so maybe playing Renegade is a safer route. The Steelers have a laundry list of problems right now, however. The Bengals trolling the Steelers is probably the last thing on players’ minds.

The Steelers held a two-game lead in the AFC North before dropping their last four games. The Ravens clinched the AFC North title by defeating the Cleveland Browns, 35-10, on Saturday.

It’s the first time since 1998 that Pittsburgh lost their last four games to end a regular season. The Steelers are the third team in NFL history to enter the playoffs on a four-game losing streak. The last team to enter the playoffs on such a streak were the 1999 Detroit Lions.

To make the playoffs as a seventh seed, the Bengals need a Denver Broncos loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and a Miami Dolphins loss or tie to the New York Jets.
