Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver and former Pitt and Clairton standout Tyler Boyd returned home Sunday with confidence in his team while leaving with stronger feelings for the opposition.
Boyd called out the Steelers on Monday, saying Pittsburgh “gave up” late in the game, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

He continued by saying that the Steelers showed the entire country on TV “what they were about” before the game officially concluded and that those watching felt it too. Boyd said it gives the Bengals an increased confidence in themselves and how good they think they are, stating his team would not give up no matter what.

The Steelers dialed up a short pass on 4th and 10 with 3:09 left in regulation five yards behind the line of scrimmage, where Najee Harris was immediately met by Cincinnati defenders.
Instead of taking a shot at the end zone from 11-yards out, Harris had no chance to reach the yard to gain or goal line. Chase Claypool, James Washington, Ray-Ray McCloud, and Pat Freiermuth were also lined up in the formation for Pittsburgh down 14 points.

In response to the call, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin resounded saying the group “fired all our bullets” in play selection.
Boyd finished the afternoon with four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals 24-10 victory at Heinz Field.
