The Buffalo Bills have agreed to sign former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Ogunjobi, who was released by the Steelers earlier this week in a salary cap-related move, will instead make more money with the Bills. He was slated to earn $7 million on the final year of his contract with the Steelers before he was cut. Instead, Ogunjobi is set to earn $8.3 million inn 2025 on his new contract with Buffalo, and incentives could drive that total to $10 million.

The Bills are returning starters DaQuan Jones and Ed Oliver on their interior defensive line, so it’s not immediately clear where he will play for Buffalo.

The Steelers have not taken any steps to replace Ogunjobi. They could be waiting for the 2025 NFL Draft, where there is a strong class of defensive linemen available.

The move to cut Ogunjobi saves the Steelers $7 million against the salary cap in 2025 and leave behind a $3.5 million dead salary cap charge. He had been set to count for $10.5 million against the team’s salary cap for 2025.

Ogunjobi, 30, had been with Pittsburgh since 2022. He played in 15 games and made 12 starts in 12 2024, recording 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, 1 1/2 sacks, and seven quarterback hits.

He first signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in 2022 before signing a three-year extension in 2023. Ogunjobi was the Steelers’ nominee for the 2025 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

Because Ogunjobi was released, he will not impact the Steelers’ future compensatory draft pick selection formula.
