The Denver Broncos placed defensive end Bradley Chubb on injured reserve Wednesday, a day after the organization announced the pass rusher was set to undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his ankle.

Chubb is the second Bronco to be placed on injured reserve in as many days. Starting linebacker Josey Jewell was given the designation Tuesday after suffering a torn pectoral, which ended his 2021 season.

Both will now miss Denver’s Oct. 10 trip to Pittsburgh, which could prove beneficial to the Steelers’ struggling offensive line.

Chubb has recorded 20.5 sacks, 28 tackles-for-loss and four forced fumbles over four seasons in Denver. He earned his first career Pro Bowl nod last year.

A 2018 fourth round pick, Jewell is viewed as one of the rising stars of the Broncos defense. He tallied 113 total tackles, five tackles-for-loss and two sacks in 2020.
