Browns Host Free Agent Pass Rusher Jadeveon Clowney

The Cleveland Browns hosted free agent pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney on Wednesday.

Cleveland coveted the former first-overall pick last offseason, but Clowney ultimately decided to sign a one-year, $12 million deal with the Tennessee Titans, where he severely underachieved. Clowney totaled just 19 tackles and four tackles-for-loss, while failing to record a sack. He played just eight games before missing the second half of the season entirely with a torn meniscus. Tennessee was one of the league’s worst pass rushing teams as a result with just 19 sacks on the season, the third-fewest in the NFL.

If the Browns were to add Clowney, he would form a fearsome pass rushing duo with fellow first-overall pick Myles Garrett. That is if Clowney is able to return to the form he demonstrated over his final two seasons in Houston, where he posted 19.5 sacks and 37 tackles-for-loss combined.
