Browns Put RB D’Ernest Johnson on COVID-19 List, Hours after Facing Steelers

The Cleveland Browns have placed running back D’Ernest Johnson on the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced Tuesday.

The move came just hours after Johnson played against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Monday night.

Johnson rushed five times for 13 yards against the Steelers on Monday night, while taking significant playing time away from starter Nick Chubb. He also caught one pass for one yard.

The Steelers seem poised to get players back from the COVID-19 list before Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, including inside linebackers Devin Bush and Joe Schobert, tackle Zach Banner, cornerback Arthur Maulet, running back Anthony McFarland Jr. and defensive lineman Chris Wormley, all of whom missed the game against the Browns while impacted by the virus.
