The Cleveland Browns have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Brian Allen from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad, the team announced Monday.

Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Steelers out of Utah, Allen has also spent time with Pittsburgh, Seattle, Buffalo and San Francisco over his career.

Allen saw action in a single game this season for the 49ers and has also spent time on theirs and the Bengals’ practice squads in 2020. He had been on the Bengals’ Reserve/COVID-19 list since Dec. 21, but was removed and returned to the practice squad on Jan. 1.

He played in 16 games with the Steelers in 2017 and 2018, contributing exclusively on special teams. The Steelers waived Allen before the start of the 2019 season.

Allen will visit the team that drafted him Sunday night, as the Steelers will host the Browns in the first round of the NFL Playoffs.
