Browns Sign former Steelers ILB Tegray Scales

The Cleveland Browns have signed former Steelers inside linebacker Tegray Scales, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Browns are dealing with several injuries at the position, as linebacker Jacob Phillips will miss most of the season with a torn biceps tendon and Montrel Meander will miss the entire season with an Achilles injury.

Scales was released by the Steelers on Aug. 14 after the club acquired Joe Schobert in  trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Scales had two stints with the Steelers, spending training camp with Pittsburgh in 2019 and then re-joining the club mid-season in 2020. He played four games with the Steelers last year.

The Browns released cornerback Robert Jackson to make room for Scales.
