Steelers outside linebacker Bud Dupree has left CAA Sports and will seek new representation, according to a report by The Sports Business Journal’s Liz Mullen.
Steelers LB Bud Dupree, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, has left CAA Sports.
The NFLPA's 5-day waiting rule is in effect, so he cannot sign with a new agency at this time.— Liz Mullen (@liz_mu11en) February 18, 2020
Dupree is set to become an unrestricted free agent this off-season, and is coming off a career year in 2019, accounting for 11.5 sacks and 16 tackles-for-loss.
While the Steelers will likely try to sign Dupree to a long-term contract when free agency begins at 4:00 PM on March 18th, the franchise tag is still an option for the organization to keep the 27 year-old Kentucky product in Pittsburgh for another year.
The period when teams can franchise tag players begins on February 25th and ends at 4:00 PM on March 10th.
