Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris has struggled to find Christmas spirit this holiday season.
Being thousands of miles from family and the league’s recent uptick in COVID-19 cases have both played a factor.
“They call me the Grinch around here,” Harris said.
While the unfortunate nickname was given to him by defensive end Cam Heyward, Pittsburgh’s captain was not going to let the rookie miss out on the holiday cheer.
Upon learning that Harris had no decorations at his house, Heyward purchased and hand delivered him a Christmas tree.
Heyward’s only requirement was that Harris decorate the tree and post a picture of it on social media to let him know he had followed through. The rookie running back did just that.
