Cam Heyward may have received the best present of all this Christmas, as his mother Charlotte gifted him a portrait of the Steelers defensive end alongside his late father Craig “Ironhead” Heyward.
The tremendous pencil portrait is the work of local artist Alex Nicholson, who Charlotte commissioned to create the heartwarming gift.
Merry Christmas, @CamHeyward !! it was an honor to do this pencil portrait for one of the best in the NFL. Thank you to @charheyward for the amazing opportunity! God bless and go Steelers! @97heywardhouse #HereWeGo @steelers #steelers pic.twitter.com/2NtbaclBIo

“Ironhead” played eleven seasons in the NFL as a running back and fullback, rushing for 4,301 yards and 30 touchdowns.
His career was tragically cut short in 1998 when he was diagnosed with cancer, the disease that would take his life eight years later.
Currently in his tenth season with the Steelers, Cam has undoubtedly made his father proud with his work on and off the field.
Cam has 49 total tackles, six tackles-for-loss, three sacks and an interception, and was named to his fourth-straight Pro Bowl just last week. He is also a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.
Nicholson has garnered some internet fame over the last few months, earning praise for his portraits of Pittsburgh sports figures, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, Penguins legends Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby and even 93.7 The Fan host and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist Ron Cook.
