Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the matchup between Pittsburgh running back Najee Harris and a beat-up Cleveland Browns defense that includes former Steelers first-round draft pick Devin Bush playing a major role.
Bush has been playing a lot since the Browns lost star linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah to a neck injury, and the 235-pound linebacker is not exactly known for his run-stopping prowess. Harris ran 27 times for 122 yards against the Seattle Seahawks last season, when Bush was starting at linebacker there.
The Cleveland defense has been leaking in general against the run, and the injury to Owusu-Koramoah and trading Za’Darius Smith to the Green Bay Packers at the deadline has made it worse. Can Pittsburgh take advantage?
Alan breaks it down.
