CBS Sports: Steelers’ Minkah Fitzpatrick Third-Best Safety in NFL
CBS Sports has ranked Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick as the third-best safety in the NFL in advance of the 2021 season.
“Fitzpatrick will likely be firmly inside this top five for the foreseeable future,” CBS Sports’ Tyler Sullivan writes. “During his first full season with the Steelers last year, Fitzpatrick earned his second-consecutive All-Pro nod as a member of one of the better defenses in the entire NFL.”
Fitzpatrick has recorded 79 total tackles and three fumble recoveries to go along with nine interceptions since arriving in Pittsburgh. He has also scored three defensive touchdowns. He’s been an All-Pro selection in each of his two season with the Steelers.
The only safeties ranked ahead of Fitzpatrick were the Denver Broncos’ Justin Simmons and Kansas City Chiefs’ Tyrann Mathieu.
CBS Sports also ranked Fitzpatrick as the 13th-best player under the age of 25 last month.
