Chiefs Activate WR Tyreek Hill from COVID-19 List, Expected to Play vs. Steelers
The Kansas City Chiefs have activated slot receiver Tyreek Hill from the COVID-19 reserve list and his expected to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, the Chiefs announced Saturday.
Hill was placed on the COVID-19 list on Tuesday, but because he has been vaccinated, was able to test out of the COVID protocol.
In 14 games with the Chiefs this season, Hill has 102 catches for 1,178 yards and nine touchdowns, all tops among Kansas City receivers. He is one of six Chiefs players named to the AFC squad for the 2020 Pro Bowl.
“[Hill] creates unbelievable issues from that standpoint down the field from a match-up standpoint, but he’s also dangerous run-after,” Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said on Saturday.
The Chiefs placed 10 players on the COVID-19 list this week, but only Hill, tight end Blake Bell and cornerback Charvarius Ward are assured to play on Sunday.
