James Conner, Benny Snell among 5 Injured Steelers to Miss Practice Wednesday

Five injured Steelers did not take part in practice on Wednesday, while another player was a limited participant.

Running backs James Conner (AC joint) and Benny Snell, Jr. (shoulder), offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey (calf) and Ramon Foster (concussion) and defensive tackle Dan McCullers (ankle) all missed practice on Wednesday, while inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III (back) was a limited participant.

Conner and Snell’s status for this Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts remains questionable, while Jaylen Samuels (knee) was once again a full participant. Samuels would be the expected starter at running back if Conner is unable to play, while Trey Edmunds will continue to provide depth.

The situation is trickier on the offense line. B.J. Finney is the team’s only backup interior lineman. If both Foster and Pouncey cannot play on Sunday, Finney would likely play center, with right tackle Matt Feiler would shifting to guard and replaced by Zach Banner.

Veterans Mark Barron and Vance McDonald had Wednesday off.
