Contract terms have been reported for the Steelers’ newest offensive line signing.
The Steelers agreed to a contract with free agent guard/tackle Joe Haeg over the weekend, and according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, they’ll pay him as much a $4.6 million on his two year deal.
According to Wilson, Haeg will receive a $1 million signing bonus and $1 million in salary in 2021. Next season, he will earn a $500,000 signing bonus on the fifth day of the league year and $2.1 million in salary.

That means Haag will count for $1.5 million against the 2021 salary cap and will be slated to count for $3.1 million against the 2022 cap. If the Steelers decide to release Haeg before his roster bonus comes due next March, he would account for just $500,000 in dead cap space.
The Steelers remain in a desperate salary cap crunch, but after roster displacement, the Haeg singing will cost the team just under a million dollars.
