Pro Football Focus ranked Pittsburgh Steelers guards Isaac Seumalo and James Daniels in PFF’s top 32 guard rankings. Seumalo came in at No. 14, while Daniels was ranked 20th.
“Seumalo made the switch across Pennsylvania in free agency after a really strong second half of the season as a pass blocker for the Philadelphia Eagles. From Week 11 through the Super Bowl, he allowed three or more pressures in only one game, with five outings where he shut out opposing interior pass rushers,” Gordon McGuinness of PFF wrote.
Below is what McGuiness had to say about Daniels.
“Daniels set a career high with a 73.2 PFF pass-blocking grade in 2022 and tied for another career high with a 98.4 pass-blocking efficiency rating, allowing 20 pressures from 686 pass-blocking snaps. Like many of the players in this range, he’s not going to be confused for a top-five player at the position, but he’s also unlikely to be a weak link either,” McGuiness wrote.
? PFF had Steelers veteran cornerback Patrick Peterson ranked as the 31st-best cornerback in the NFL.
“Peterson had a huge bounce-back season in 2022 for the Vikings. He finished with a 77.8 PFF overall grade and five interceptions, the most he has recorded in a single season since 2012,” Sam Monson of PFF wrote. “At this point in his career, he is better in zone coverage than he is playing man to man, but he showed that he is still capable of very high-level play if he can be protected a little within the scheme.”
