Adam Schein of CBS Sports wonders what the actual standard of the Pittsburgh Steelers is.

“I think they’re going to make the playoffs and I think they get bounced early. Mike Tomlin always says, ‘the standard is the standard.’ What is the standard? Is it just making the playoffs and being bounced in the first round? Is that the new normal in Pittsburgh? Schein said. “Print the tee shirts, ‘Tomlin goes over .500 again.’ Is that considered a success? I keep looking for reasons to fall in love with the Steelers, but I don’t know any Steelers fan that watched that game on Thursday night that feels great about anything other than the final score.”

ESPN FPI. The Cleveland Browns have a 54.6% to make the playoffs (8.7% chance to win the division), while the Cincinnati Bengals: have 53.9% odds to make the playoffs (8.5% chance to win the division). The Baltimore Ravens at 7-2 are by far the favorites to win the division at 74.8%. They’re also pretty much a lock to make the postseason with 96.1% odds.

? Jeffri Chadiha of NFL.com thinks Mike Tomlin has done the most impressive coaching job so far in 2023.

“The Steelers are 5-3 with an offense that is feeble at best. They’re the 34th team in NFL history to be outgained in each of their first eight games — and the only member of that dubious group to produce a winning record during such an unimpressive stretch. How are they doing it? It’s simple: They have one of the best head coaches this league has ever seen,” Chadiha wrote. “Nothing about the Steelers is threatening except for the way they prepare and somehow execute in critical moments. A lesser-coached team would be in the running for a top-five pick in next year’s draft. This group has a legitimate shot at a playoff spot because of the man leading them.”

? The Steelers will have a https://twitter.com/steelers/status/1721663755518669233″>special
