🏈 With the Pittsburgh Steelers losing their final five games to end the season, many are calling for Mike Tomlin’s job. Ex-Steelers wide receiver Eli Rogers feels bad for his former head coach.
“Feel bad for coach Tomlin. He’s a hell of a coach and I am glad I got a chance to win playoff games with him during my short lived time in Pittsburgh. I know we can win again!” Rogers wrote on X.
🏈 Stephen A. Smith questions whether the Steelers superstars should stick around in Pittsburgh.
“If I’m T.J. Watt, I’m looking at this franchise,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take. “I know how great I am, but I know great we’re not. I’m looking at that. If I’m Najee Harris, who’s approaching free agency, I might wanna move on. … If I’m George Pickens — certainly needs to handle stuff better – you ain’t got to say every truth. You ain’t got to be outspoken. I’ve got that part. But, let’s deal with the validity of his words. Is he lying?”
🏈 Former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker can’t remember the last time the Steelers got bullied like they did on Saturday night against the Ravens.
“I can’t remember watching a Pittsburgh Steelers team get beat up physically that badly. You know, everybody focuses, I feel like, on the quarterback situation. And in fairness, they’re in a tough spot there. Like, what’s your solution or anybody’s solution for the Steelers to get a quarterback that can compete with Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow. It’s hard. They’re in a tough spot there,” Tucker said on the Dan Patrick Show. “But that’s a separate issue. Their defense, this is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I mean, you have Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, you’re paying Patrick Queen, you’re paying Minkah Fitzpatrick. They have Alex Highsmith getting paid. They have a lot of resources invested in that unit. And for the Ravens to have 250 yards rushing with six minutes left in the third quarter, six minutes left in the quarter. I would say worst of the weekend was watching the Pittsburgh Steelers get run over.”
🏈 Tony Dungy questions who the Steelers would replace Tomlin with if they moved on from him.
“Let me ask this, ‘Who am I going to get that’s better’? That’s the thing that’s going to go through Art Rooney’s mind. I can move on from Mike Tomlin, but what’s my next plan? And when you look around out there, there’s no guarantee that you are going to get somebody who knows your organization. Who can build this and do it any better? So I think that’s what’s going through their mind right now,” Dungy said on the Dan Patrick Show.
