? Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger pumped the brakes on the Steelers offense. He wants to see how they do against an elite defense.

“I just want to pump the brakes a little bit, just because we don’t know what we’re gonna get when we face a really good defense,” Roethlisberger said of the offense on his Footbahlin podcast. “But they’re doing what they have to do right now, and that’s all that matters.”

? Former Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson was in a Ravens uniform for the first time on Thursday. The Carolina Panthers traded Johnson and a sixth-round pick to the Ravens for a fifth-round pick on Wednesday.

Johnson and the Ravens face the Steelers on Nov. 17 at Acrisure Stadium. It will be Johnson’s first game against his former team since being traded in March this past offseason.

“If Russell Wilson could continue to look this way with the Steelers defense … I can’t dismiss the Pittsburgh Steelers as a threat,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take.
