? Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach and Hall of Famer Bill Cowher reflected on the late Myron Cope during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. McAfee paid tribute to the legendary Steelers broadcaster on Friday, as he thinks a lot of team’s have incredibly boring preseason broadcast crews.

“The day I was named head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers they asked me to go on the Myron Cope Show.. I knew that I made it when I was on the Myron Cope Show and my dad was listening to it,” Cowher said.

? J.J. Watt worked out at the Steelers facility on Monday, which got fans speculating if he’s making a comeback. Bill Cowher, who’s a colleague of Watt a CBS, said on the Pat McAfee Show that Watt is open to playing again if the right opportunity presents itself.

“All I know is I was just with him last week at our seminar and I know he’s exactly the same playing weight as he was when he was playing,” Cowher said. “I don’t know what will happen this season if anything would develop. I know J.J is ready, but I don’t think he will take that phone call, but I think he would listen.

“Yeah well, he has said that openly, this is the last year. ‘This is the last year that I’ll keep my phone on if anyone needs me in the perfect situation.’ He said that publicly.”

? Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky thinks Justin Fields should start over Russell Wilson.

? Steelers nose tackle Keeanu Benton had a strong performance on Saturday night, recording two tackles, a half-sack and two quarterback hits. Benton and fellow Wisconsin Badger Nick Herbig were all over the field.

? Offensive line guru Brandon Thorn said Steelers center Zach Frazier is on the shortlist for being the most impressive rookie offensive lineman of the preseason.

? NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter said T.J. Luther ran a bad route on the miss connection with Justin Fields in Saturday’s game.

? Steel City Star shared a throwback clip of former Steelers cornerback Dewayne Washington in a commercial for the United Way (2002).

? Bills quarterback and former Steeler Mitch Trubisky suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s game. It’s expected that he’ll be out for multiple weeks. Former Pitt and Pine-Richland quarterback could be the Bills’ No. 2 QB while Trubisky is sidelined.

? Bills head coach Sean McDermott decided to not play Josh Allen in Saturday’s preseason game because of the weather conditions in Pittsburgh, and the short warmup.

“I didn’t play Josh, the reason there was I thought Josh had a good week of practice, played well in the practice against the Steelers two days ago,” McDermott said. “The conditions, the way it was, I didn’t love that, and in the warmup, it wasn’t a full warmup with the weather the way it was, so I didn’t feel like in my gut it was the right thing to do.”
