Smith-Schuster signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in late August after being released by New England during training camp.

? Since 1990, the Broncos are 34-7 in the first two weeks at home, according to Warren Sharp of Sharp Football. Part of that is due to the high elevation change, but Denver is only 1-4 in their last five home games in the first two weeks of the season since 2019.

The Denver Broncos are 13-5-1 all-time against the Steelers in Denver. The last time the Steelers won in Denver was in 2009. The Steelers are 1-5 at Mile High under Mike Tomlin.

? Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward and outside linebacker T.J. Watt discussed the challenges of playing in the high altitude in Denver. Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High Stadium sits a mile high above sea level at 5,280 feet.

“Denver is one of a kind, the altitude. Shoot, you don’t even have to play football. You go to Denver, you’re gonna feel the altitude,” Heyward said on his Not Just Football podcast. “I get headaches even just walking around there. But that can’t be the reason why we lose the game, it can’t be the reason why we win a game. So, gotta battle the elements and be ready for it.”

“I think it absolutely will be a challenge,” Watt said on Friday. “I can’t really remember how it was the last time I was there, was ’18 or something like that. But I can’t really change it, so all I’m trying to do now is this whole week try to practice hard, rest, and recover as much as I possibly can so I’m ready to go when, when the game time kicks off.”

? Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has no plans to negotiate a long-term deal with the Bengals this season and believes the team misled him during the offseason, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

? Former Steelers cornerback Patrick Peterson believes if Justin Fields goes 3-0, he will become the starter in Pittsburgh. The Steelers plan on starting Fields next week in the home opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, as well.

“Just being around there last year, I’m telling you, if you the young fella goes 3-0, mark my words: he will be the starter,” Peterson said.

? Sean Payton is 3-0 against Mike Tomlin. This is the first time Payton will face him as the Broncos head coach. All three of Payton’s wins came when he was the New Orleans Saints head coach with Drew Brees as his quarterback.

? Mike Tomlin gave his keys to a win against the Broncos during his weekly sit down with Bob Pompeani.
